Family Business Ad Critique: Royal Cup

Royal Cup History  The company was founded in 1896 by Henry T. Batterton as the Batterton Coffee Company in Birmingham, Alabama. Henry T. Batterton was the first coffee roaster in the state of Alabama. In 1930, Mr. Batterton and his wife died in an automobile accident, and the bank took control of the company. William E. Smith purchased the coffee company from Mr. Batterton’s estate in 1950 and changed the name to Royal Cup, Inc. In 1989, Hatton Smith, William’s younger brother, took over as president of the company. BLUE History The BLUE Buffalo Company began in 2003 when Blue, a family dog, was struggling with cancer. Bill and Jackie’s beloved dog’s illness is what prompted them to take a serious interest in a wide range of pet health issues. This inspired the Bishop family to make a super-premium pet food using only the finest natural ingredients starting with real chicken, lamb or fish. Bush’s History In 1908, Bush Brothers & Company was established in Chestnut Hill, Tennessee by A.J. Bush. He didn’t even sell the beans that made the brand so well known- it was actually a general store. They soon began making the beans that they are famous for today. Jay Bush, A.J.
