Family Business Ad Critique: POM

POM History
Pomegranate juice, a source of antioxidants, has been growing in popularity over the past decade, and no one has benefited more from this than the privately owned Pom Wonderful company. Based in Los Angeles, with pomegranate orchards throughout the San Joaquin Valley, Pom Wonderful appears to be a family-owned and managed company without affiliation to any conglomerate, but Pom communications do not make mention of the family-owned nature of the business. It was founded in 2002 by the billionaire industrial agriculture couple Stewart and Lynda Rae Resnick. The company does focus on the fact that the pomegranates are California grown and hand selected.

There is no mention of the family business aspect in this ad so we couldn’t award any stars for family message or family values. Unfortunately, this ad does not have a call to action so we also gave it zero stars for that category. However, we believe that the ad is very visually attractive and got our attention so we gave it 5 stars. The copy in the ad does a fantastic job of selling the product and explaining the benefits, like the powerful antioxidants that defend your health.
